The Speaker, Ekiti State Youth Parliament, Rt Hon Toba Fatunla has urged the new administration in the State, under the leadership of Mr. Biodun Oyebanji to prioritize programmes that will engender capacity development and spur Ekiti Youths to greatness and self discovery.
He gave the charge earlier today during a courtesy visit to the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Special Duties, Hon Oluwafemi Aduloju in Ado-Ekiti.
Fatunla, who was accompanied by other members of the Parliament, stressed the need to productively engage Ekiti Youths, noting that it is a plus for the new administration to have made Youth Development the number one pillar of the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration.
He urged the Government to consider exchange programmes and what could actually develop the potentials of Ekiti Youths beyond political rhetoric and unfulfilled promises of the past.
While highlighting laudable programmes and projects that the Parliament have been able to carry out, he sought for more support for the Youths in the State as he also presented a well researched and documented blueprint on Youth development and engagement to Hon. Aduloju.
Responding, the SSA extoled the Parliament Leaders for being proactive and setting the pace in Ekiti State, while he also pinpointed many laudable plans his office and the Governor have for Youth Development in the State.
“One of the plans recently took me to Lagos where I met strategic stakeholders in Youth Development Sector in Nigeria”, he said.
Hon. Aduloju assured the young Parliamentarians of Government readiness to engage Youths at all times, saying “many vista of opportunities will open to Ekiti Youth, because the Governor, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji has the best interest of the Youths at heart.”
