Some Owo women have gathered to summon “Ogun” (the deity of iron and war) in order to seek justice for worshippers killed by gunmen in an Ondo Catholic church.

According to Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, 80 people were killed in last Sunday’s terror attack at St Francis Catholic Church on Owa-luwa street in Owo.

He added that 52 people suffered varied injuries and were being treated at the Federal Medical Center in Owo, St Louis Hospital in Owo, and the Owo General Hospital, among other private hospitals.

However, the Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Jude Arogundade, said that at least 38 church members were slain in the mayhem.

The women, plainly enraged by the killings, poured libations and deposited metals on the floor, pleading with the god of iron to bring them justice.
